What sets this program apart from other school-based health initiatives is we are focusing on both the students AND the adults on campus. We believe that by challenging and inspiring the adults to live healthier lifestyles, they will serve as powerful role models for the students and inspire and motivate their students to become healthier.
According to the CDC’s Whole School, Whole Community, Whole Child initiative, fostering school employees’ physical and mental health protects school staff and, by doing so, helps to support students’ health and academic success.
Below are various activities and strategies planned for the faculty and staff during the 2018-2019 school year:
One-on-one individualized coaching with a health coach
Additional consulting through email/phone communication with their health coach
Weekly/monthly healthy challenges issued with incentives
Lunch and Learn programs covering a wide variety of wellness topics
Book club, walking club, yoga classes and other activities
Monthly newsletter with information relating to the program and healthy articles
